Doesn't the District get enough funding from our property taxes through the state?
The state’s funding model calculates how much the District receives for its educational program based on the number and demographics of students attending school. State funding places higher value on low-income or english-learners, and/or foster youth. LVUSD demographics result in our district receiving significantly less than average districts in the state; on an annual basis, that translates into $13.5 million less than the average California school district of equal size.
